Summary

This is basically a 3d version of Donkey Kong. This is the first attempt at making games for me, so it's nothing too fancy, but it runs okay and may help some beginners to see some source code.

Full Description

I basically took the old donkey kong game and turned the camera to be right behind Mario. Now you run up a ramp in a 3d world, climing ladders, jumping barrels, all in order to get Marifro's taxi cab back from Donkey King. Donkey King

Written and Designed by Sager Davidson

Storyline:

Long, long ago, Donkey Kong escaped from the zoo and stole an

Italian (then carpenter, now plumber)'s girlfriend.  The carpenter,

named Mario, then proceeded to beat the shit out of Donkey Kong and

take his girlfriend back.

Years later, Donkey King, Donkey Kong's nephew, has been shipped to

the Brooklyn zoo.  After a while, he hears that Mario has a cousin living

in Brooklyn named Marifro who drives a cab.  He makes a plan to steal

Marifro's taxi cab and follows through.  It is your job as Marifro

to make sure that this ape remembers who's boss.  Take back your

cab and pop a cap in this stupid monkey.

This whole game was created from scratch by me save a few things:

-Some of the camera work I took straight from the DB

tutorial that comes with DB called Sliding Collision

-The taxi comes from DarkMatter, the gorilla comes from

turbosquid.com, and the Marifro character was made by

Terri Howard.

-The game theme music comes from ocremix.org; the song was

created by Selecta Novel and is called:

Super Mario Bros 3 Staff Battle

-The sad italian music win you get less that 0 points is also

from ocremix.org; artist is unconfirmed.

-The barrel explosion was taken and modified from the Monster

Hunt tutorial on the Game Creators website.

It's not a flashy game, but it's my first attempt.
